Xbox Game Pass: a ton of free games arrives

This week, Microsoft will hold its first Developer Direct of the year and reveal a surprise game from Xbox Studios. In the meantime, fans of the ecosystem will be able to download their (maybe) new favorite to keep them busy during the winter. Xbox Game Pass subscribers, depending on the plan chosen, will be able to discover up to 20 new games for this first half of January. Here's the full list of new additions to Xbox Game Pass on PC and console.

A gem of French video games joins the catalog in 2025. Road 96 follows the story of a protagonist who goes on a road trip and meets more interesting people than the others. It is a narrative game whose story evolves at the same time as the player and follows his desires. Subscribers will also be able to enjoy the charm of My Time at Sandrock, the spiritual sequel to My Time at Portia.

Several titles are not so new, but are returning to the Game Pass catalog after leaving it for a few weeks or even months. These include The Case of the Golden Idol and Magical Delicacy.Fans of the Far Cry saga will be able to get their hands on the penultimate opus, the spin-off of the 5th game in the franchise called New Dawn.

In the Game Pass, arrivals are always accompanied by a few departures. Starting January 31, subscribers will have to cross out the following titles:

  • Broforce Forever(Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Darkest Dungeon(Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Death’s Door(Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Maquette(Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem(Cloud, Console, and PC)

How can you enjoy all these games?

As a reminder, Xbox Game Pass is a service by subscription offered by Microsoft on Xbox and PC. Subscribers must choose between 4 different plans, depending on their needs, but also on their platform.

  • The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gives access to the entire catalog (day one releases and EA Play) and allows you to play on console, PC and cloud for €17.99 per month.
  • The Xbox Game Pass Standard gives access to hundreds of games (except day one releases and certain titles) and allows you to play online, available only on console for €12.99 per month.
  • The Xbox Game Pass Core includes more than 35 games and access to online multiplayer (this is the successor to Xbox Live Gold), available on console for €6.99 per month.
  • The PC Game Pass is billed 11.99€ and offers access to the entire catalog as well as EA Play and Day One games.
