Announced last year at Summer Game Fest, Dune Awakening was scheduled for release as early as May. It was ultimately postponed by a month, to June 10, 2025 so that Funcom's teams could polish it properly.
In this final stretch, the studio doesn't intend to leave players with nothing. We learned today that a large-scale beta will be organized from May 9 to 12. Here are all the details.
Dune Awakening: a beta and a LAN in May
If you've been impatiently waiting for Dune Awakening, you'll have plenty to do in May. Funcom announced today that the game will have a large-scale beta from May 9th to 12th. During this beta, a very large number of players will be welcomed on the servers, to make the biggest test ever carried out to date.
This beta will allow players to discover the first twenty hours of the game to get a taste of the spice and discover the first part of the story of Dune Awakening (in addition to the entire multiplayer phase). You will have access to most of Act 1. Funcom specifies that this beta will not be under NDA (unlike previous ones) and that all information can be published and shared.
In addition, the studio specifies that streams will be allowed. Expect There will be plenty of videos and information about the game in the coming weeks to help you decide whether or not to embark on the final adventure when the game releases on June 10th.
To participate in the beta, nothing could be simpler. Just go to the Dune Awakening Steam page to add the game to your wishlist and request access.
In addition to the beta, Funcom will be organizing a Global LAN Party on May 10th at PAX East in London. This event will be streamed live on streaming platforms and social media to give you a first look at the game. During this LAN, the developers will speak to provide information and answer questions.
And among the list of players, special guests are announced (to be announced soon). During the event, tens of thousands of keys will be distributed live to those who watch and will allow immediate access to the game's beta.
