Horizon Zero Dawn: We have news of this project that divides a lot

Sales figures haven't been updated, but Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, along with their respective expansions, have helped give PlayStation one of its biggest hits of all time. In fact, it has sold over 32.7 million units, all games combined. For a franchise that was born in 2017, it's a pretty big hit that propelled the Guerrilla Games franchise into the big leagues. And the saga will therefore receive treatment worthy of its popularity, like Uncharted, The Last of Us... We have news of this very divisive project.

From the small screen to the big screen for Horizon Zero Dawn

After the success of Aloy's first adventures, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Guerrilla Games have confirmed that they have very long-term plans. In video games, we already know that there will be a single-player Horizon 3 title as well as a multiplayer title that is not the canceled MMO from NCsoft (Guild Wars).

In addition to these games, Aloy will make her first steps in cinema with a Horizon Zero Dawn film. A feature film that will follow in the footsteps of other adaptations from PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures to like Gran Turismo, Uncharted, or even the upcoming Until Dawn: The Endless Death. Originally, the story of Horizon Zero Dawn and its characters were supposed to return to the small screen through a Netflix live-action series, but the project fell through.

The Netflix series Horizon 2074 has been canceled. According to the media outlet Rolling Stone, showrunner Steve Blackman (Umbrella Academy) allegedly engaged in manipulative and toxic behavior. In an interview with Variety, Asad Qizilbash, head of PlayStation Productions, cited creative differences. " It wasn't going the way we wanted it to from a creative point of view. The Horizon Zero Dawn movie was therefore clearly a better solution, except for some internet users who were quick to destroy the feature film, notably by attacking the heroine of the license with very gritty visuals, before the project even began filming.
