In a sort of surprise update on PS5, some players have noticed that the home screen feature, introduced only last year, has recently been enriched with new and very welcome free options. This is precisely the problem for the moment: there is currently no information indicating when all owners of the console will be able to take advantage of it. Return to the home screen to see all that.
A much more welcoming screen on PS5, but for the moment not for everyone
À At its launch, the PS5's otherwise very elegant interface was somewhat lacking in customization options. It took until 2024 and PlayStation's 30th anniversary for Sony to offer a free customizable home screen with animated wallpapers based on the themes of the group's previous consoles. This initiative was greatly welcomed by players, who wanted more options to become available. For a time, Astro Bot was the one who took center stage with an animated wallpaper in his image, but that was the only one.
That was until recently, when some PS5 users like Chi on X.com noticed that other free animated wallpapers were now available on its console. There would be something for everyone, from Days Gone to God of War, including Horizon, Demon's Souls, and even Ghost of Yotei, which has not yet been released. However, it seems that these additions are currently only available, oddly enough, to a few lucky ones.
In the absence of communication from Sony on this subject, it is difficult at the moment to know when these will be accessible to all PS5 owners. If these wallpapers interest you, you can try to see if you are one of the lucky few from your home screen, by selecting the option " Change Wallpaper », and seeing if the new ones are accessible to you. Hopefully this will be the case soon, so you can dress up your PS5 screen with your favorite PlayStation license.
