FromSoftware is currently on several fronts, between Elden Ring Nightreign arriving on May 30th on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, then the port of Elden Ring and its DLC on Nintendo Switch 2 later this year, and finally The Duskbloods coming in 2026, this time exclusively (at launch anyway) on Nintendo's new console. For the time being, one branch of the studio is fully focused on this very action-oriented cooperative spin-off, with a new trailer illustrating it elegantly.
A new trailer full of nobility and flexibility for Elden Ring Nightreign
Last week, Elden Ring Nightreign highlighted one of the eight predefined characters that we can play in this title mixing Battle Royale and Rogue-Lite with FromSoftware sauce: the Ironeye, a class specialized in bow attacks. This week, place to the Duchess, a class focused on melee. She sports an elegant appearance and moves with a certain grace, with gameplay reminiscent of traditional thieves or rogues in other Action-RPGs.
The Duchess, which we were able to test in our preview of Elden Ring Nightreign, has passively improved dodge and fights at the start of each run with a magic dagger. She will take full advantage of Dexterity-based melee weapons and strikes quickly but accurately. Like all the other classes in the game, she also has a special skill and an Ultimate ability. The first, Repetition, allows you to inflict the same instance of damage after a few seconds that an enemy suffered when you cast your spell. This is particularly devastating when an opponent has suffered a bleeding proc. Its ultimate ability, Grand Final, allows the entire team to become invisible, giving them a few moments to breathe without risking being hit, especially by a boss.
Elden Ring Nightreign thus presents classes that are certainly predefined, which contrast with the freedom of avatar creation offered by the original game, but which are each unique. In any case, we still have three characters to discover before the game's release on May 30th.
