Besides Fast and Furious and xXx, one of Vin Diesel's other big franchises is of course Riddick. Currently, the actor is working on a fourth installment. But the film seems to be taking its time. Fortunately, Vin Diesel, who is very active on social media, has given us some news about Riddick: Fury.
What is the Riddick saga?
In 2000, just before Vin Diesel became an international star thanks to Fast and Furious (2001), the actor was already starring in another cult film: Pitch Black. Directed by David Twohy, Pitch Black is a science fiction adventure that has become a benchmark in the field. A high-quality, entertaining B-movie, Pitch Black depicts a generous science-fiction universe, a charismatic, taciturn protagonist, and features a fascinating bestiary. Following the success of the first film, David Twohy then directed two sequels: The Chronicles of Riddick in 2004 and Riddick in 2013. In total, the franchise has grossed over $267 million at the box office. More than ten years after Riddick, Vin Diesel will reprise his iconic role as Richard B. Riddick in a fourth film titled Riddick: Furya.
Where is Riddick: Furya?
Logically, the first images of Riddick: Furya shouldn't be too long in coming. Indeed, production on this fourth installment began in the summer of 2024. However, no trailer seems to be on the horizon. Riddick: Furya will tell the story of how Riddick returns to his homeworld. He will support other Furyans who are fighting against a new threat. In fact, not much else is known about the project...
Very active on social media, Vin Diesel took to his Instagram account to reassure his fans. Riddick: Furya is still very much on the agenda and the project is moving forward slowly. The actor shared a new image of himself as Riddick. His glowing gray eyes capable of seeing in the dark are once again highlighted. He accompanied this photo with the simple caption "Approaching..." Well, we're waiting, Vin, we're waiting...
