This is why Yoda speaks in such a unique way in the Star Wars films

“When you are 900 years old like me, you will be less fit”, “Always on the move is the future”... This is how Yoda likes to express himself when he takes the young Luke Skywalker under his wing to make him a Jedi. The reason for this mode of expression has always been a great mystery. Luke's training had barely begun In the first cinematographic work, the director had planned for it to continue in the sequel to the first film.

The idea of a small green being came to him then. However, the director was not very optimistic when creating the character, and his doubts persisted until filming. Why is that? Because he thought it would be a disaster to entrust such an important role to a puppet. But ultimately, the result lives up to all expectations, with the animation work having been entrusted to Frank Oz, the puppeteer of The Muppet Show.
