If there's one format whose creativity is beyond question, it's television shows and game shows. The proof is in this new show based on a famous board game, which will be hosted by Arthur on TF1.
TF1 and its new show concept
The Wheel of Fortune, Hot Ones, LOL: Who Laughs Sorts, Koh Lanta, there are a legion of unusual show concepts on French television. Speaking of which, TF1 has just issued a press release announcing the launch of a brand new TV game show.
Indeed, the first channel of TNT has just confirmed the launch of a TV show adapted from the board game Bataille Navale. The channel promises "original and spectacular" content in a press release. Released on March 31st.
This new game will be produced by Dreamspark and Satisfaction. TF1 has chosen one of its star hosts to present the program, Arthur. Known for being the face of Vendredi tout est permis or Les Enfants de la Télé, Arthur will be the ship captain of this Bataille Navale.
This show will basically follow the rules of Bataille Navale. However, the candidates, who will be in teams, will first have to answer general knowledge questions to have the right to shoot at the enemy boats.
According to TF1, this show will set up spectacular, life-size sets to bring the Battleship to life. The game will include several events leading up to a final round called The Final Assault.
Moe Bennani, producer and president of Dreamspark, spoke on this new production:
We wanted to create a unifying entertainment around a game that families already know. With "Battleship," we will reinvent this classic board game into a powerful television experience, full of suspense, strategy, and emotion. Dreamspark is proud to collaborate with Satisfaction and TF1 to offer an immersive format where viewers will vibrate to every shot and every boat eliminated.
After Peter Berg in 2012 with Battleship and the first season of Squid Game, it's now TF1's turn to tackle the Battleship! Who's going to watch?
