The Witcher 4: An important warning if you plan to play it before its release

The Witcher 4: An important warning if you plan to play it before its release

As a reminder, The Witcher 4 has been in full production for several months, with around 400 developers working. Even though it's the most advanced game in development at CD Projekt RED, it's not expected to be released until 2027 or 2028. Thus, these supposed invitations to try the game in advance via beta tests seemed suspicious, given its current state of progress. Thus, the Polish studio quickly issued a message to clarify the situation before it escalated.

The Witcher 4 is still far from being tested in advance

For several reasons, the idea of a The Witcher 4 is generating a lot of excitement. The idea of returning to the cult dark fantasy universe, after the masterful success of The Witcher 3, is one. The other is to experience all of this through the eyes of Ciri, Geralt's adopted daughter, now a witcher in her own right, in intriguing circumstances that we want to discover. However, with a release expected to be no more than two or three years away, it seems unlikely that CD Projekt RED's next title will already be ready to try out via any early version.

This is precisely what the studio has just denied in a message on the franchise's official X.com account. " We recently received reports from community members indicating that they have received invitations to a beta test for The Witcher 4. This is a scam! We have therefore taken the necessary steps to remove these fraudulent messages. However, if you receive any invitation or come across any news who is talking about it, we humbly ask you to report this scam using the appropriate tools via email or your social media. Remember: professional monster slayers don't fall for scams, they see right through them and cut them in half! If we happen to organize beta tests in the future, you will hear about them via our official social media and website. ".

We will indeed have to be as patient as a witcher before even seeing what The Witcher 4 will offer. CD Projekt RED probably intends to take all the time necessary to avoid reliving the situation of the controversial launch of Cyberpunk 2077, and the four long years that followed to restore its image.
