This streaming platform reveals how much AI-made music it receives every day and it's mind-blowing

Artificial intelligence can create music, and therefore end up on audio streaming services. But to what extent? A famous platform responds with a surprising figure.

This streaming platform reveals how much AI-made music it receives every day and it's mind-blowing

With everything that artificial intelligence is capable of, it's no surprise that it composes music. We've seen the success of services like Suno, which allow you to create compelling tracks very easily and without any prior musical knowledge. This isn't a bad thing in itself. The problem is that it's just as easy to post the results on the many audio streaming platforms that exist. Human artists then find themselves deprived of part of the revenue they could claim.

The phenomenon is far from marginal. For example, it has pushed Deezer to create a tool to detect music created 100% by AI in order to exclude it from its recommendations. Launched in early 2025, the program in question has not been idle and he's clearly far from being able to take a day off. Deezer today revealed the share of AI tracks added to the platform every day. We didn't expect that.

This audio streaming platform receives an impressive number of AI-generated music

On Deezer, 20,000 songs entirely generated by AI are uploaded every day. This represents 18% of daily additions. The figure has therefore doubled in one quarter since it was around 10,000 tracks by January 2025. Aurélien Hérault, Director of Innovation at Deezer, sees no signs of the trend slowing down, quite the contrary.

It is important to act now to limit the damage: “Generative AI has the potential to have a positive impact on music creation and consumption, but we must approach its development with responsibility and care to protect the rights and revenues of artists and songwriters, while maintaining transparency for fans.“ Last year, Deezer removed 26 million tracks from its catalog, many of which were AI-created music. It's a safe bet that this figure has already impressive will be exceeded this year.
