The latest big Star Wars game, Outlaws, is coming to the Switch 2. We now know when we'll be able to dive into the adventure directly from Nintendo's next console.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... Who hasn't at least heard this expression, which has become legendary since its first appearance on movie screens on October 19, 1977 in France? Accompanied by equally legendary music by John Williams, it has opened the Star Wars films for 48 years now. But that's not all. Video games set in the universe created by George Lucas also have the right to begin with the famous quote.
And there's no shortage of Star Wars games. They're still released regularly today, even if the multiplicity of genres at the time has given way to a now-classic approach: the third-person open-world adventure game. The latest, Star Wars Outlaws, features Kay Vess, an outlaw riddled with debt who inevitably recalls the character of Han Solo in many ways. If you haven't tried it yet, its release on Nintendo Switch 2 will be the opportunity.
Here's when Star Wars Outlaws will be released on Nintendo's Switch 2
During our review of Star Wars Outlaws, we noted that while the first few hours were sluggish, the rest was engaging, without being revolutionary. However, it remains a good choice for fans who swear by Nintendo. Remember that if you're hesitant, there's a free demo of Star Wars Outlaw on PC, PS5, and Xbox. Keep in mind, however, that you won't be able to transfer your progress to Switch (or anywhere else), so you'll have to start all over again.

The game, already well-developed, continues to receive updates both for bug fixes (the PC version is at 5.3) and content. A second DLC called A Pirate's Fortune will arrive this year. Kay Vess will meet Hondo Ohnaka, leader of a pirate gang seen in The Clone Wars series. As for Nintendo's next console, Star Wars Outlaw will be coming to Switch 2 on September 4, 2025.
