It's now official, we have a date for GTA 6. Unfortunately, it won't be for the end of this year as planned. Rockstar Games has just made official the game's delay to 2026.
In recent days, we felt Take Two Interactive's communication accelerate. Between the Borderlands 4 State of Play and the upcoming Mafia The Old Country presentation, we imagined that things were going to move for Rockstar Games too. Unfortunately, we were hoping for a slightly more positive outcome.
Unfortunately, GTA6 has just been delayed for the first time and is now set to release in a year, May 26, 2026.

We believed it and Take Two Interactive (the parent company of Rockstar Games) had done everything to give us hope. Unfortunately, it is now a reality: GTA 6 has been delayed to May 26, 2026 and will not be released in the fall of 2025 as planned. Rockstar Games confirmed the news via a press release on its official website.
To deliver a game that lives up to the company's standards, the teams need an additional 7/8 months to complete the game:
See you in a little over a year now, hoping that this time it's the right one and that we'll be entitled to just one delay. No information regarding the release of the first images or the publication of the second trailer. Players and fans will have to be patient.
