A few years ago, Sony announced the June 2025 releases for the PlayStation Plus Extra & Premium tiers, including some very solid games like Inscryption, Monster Hunter Rise, and Rogue Legacy 2. Shortly after this announcement, users were in for a nasty surprise when they discovered that one of them was in fact no longer available. Worse still, the mysterious situation surrounding this title becomes more and more so as we dig a little deeper.
The PlayStation Plus Extra still marked by a strange mystery
The June 2025 releases for the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers also included After Us, Avicii Invector, and Kayak VR: Mirage. This is unfortunately not the first time the service has experienced a strange incident, as several other games and features have in the past suffered a strange premature disappearance, notably due to a bug. Except that, upon further investigation, it seems that the situation surrounding the game we are interested in is not actually new, far from it in fact.
After the announcement of the June 2025 releases on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, subscribers discovered that Avicii Invector, a mix between a musical rhythm game and a shoot'em up directly linked to the late famous artist, developed and published by Hello Games (No Man's Sky), was in fact no longer available on the service. It had been accessible to subscribers since 2022, and is therefore no longer available a little ahead of schedule. However, it seems that this was the case even well before Sony announced the following month's releases.
On Reddit, a Premium member of the service noted that Avicii Invector had apparently not been available for download on the service for several months, and only via streaming. In any case, a strange curse seems to have struck the PlayStation Network, and PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are once again paying the price.
