After the rumors and the first official announcement at the Unpacked 2025 at the beginning of the year, which allowed the whole world to discover the new Samsung Galaxy S25 Series, the Korean manufacturer is taking advantage of this month of May to launch its new premium smartphone, here is the new Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. We were waiting for its official dimensions but also its weight to know what to expect and we are clearly not disappointed.
If we are still wondering which population Samsung is really targeting with this new type of premium smartphone, we can only welcome the proposal of the Korean giant with this Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge which offers a thickness of only 5.8mm and above all a featherweight of only 163g. This year, we thought that the Galaxy S25 and S25+ weren't very heavy compared to the competition, but this is a whole different ball game and we can safely say that it's quite impressive. Available in three colors, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will be available from the end of May 2025.
A design inspired by the S25 Series
Unsurprisingly, when you discover the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, It's obvious that we have this feeling of déjà vu since the smartphone more or less takes up the design of the S25 Series of the Korean manufacturer. But if we could blame the S25 Series for not evolving too much, it's quite the opposite with the S25 Edge which offers a thickness of only 5.8mm and a featherweight of only 163g. It's really impressive and it's in the hand that we achieve such a feat.
As a result, we find the flat edges of the titanium contour, like on the S25 Ultra. But that's not all since we discover not only a flat screen but also a flat back. All this allows for a very sharp, very tech design and this should please the most technophiles. The camera block is still integrated into the chassis of the S25 Edge, as with the rest of the range.
As for the screen itself, no surprises since we find on this Galaxy S25 Edge a Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a Quad HD+ definition. We obviously find an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120Hz and they are all HDR10+ certified. The fingerprint sensor remains under the screen and is still ultrasonic and we find AKG stereo speakers as well as support for Dolby Atmos.
Qualcomm: there must only be one left!
With Samsung, we never really know what the manufacturer will choose as SoC. But luckily for us, we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC for this new smartphone. We were so afraid of seeing an Exynos but that won't be the case in 2025. Phew! Of course, the Snapdragon 8 Elite is optimized for Samsung smartphones. And because gaming remains an important element, the Galaxy S25 Edge offers a larger cooling system than the Galaxy S25+. In any case, we expect a similar level of performance to the other Galaxy S25s.

Samsung is offering the higher capacity for pre-order from May 13 to May 31, 2025. Also, for 1249 euros, we will benefit from the 512GB version instead of the 256GB version.
Photo and video
Because it is a premium smartphone, Samsung could not miss out on photography. Also, this new Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge offers a clever mix between what the different Galaxy S25s offer. As we have noticed, the Galaxy S25 Edge offers a rear camera block with only two cameras. We thus find a standard wide-angle and an ultra wide-angle. And so, to compensate for the absence of a telephoto camera, Samsung offers a main camera with the 200 Megapixel main sensor found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. And as we will have understood, it is with the 200 Megapixel sensor that we will have access to a x2 zoom (in crop) and up to x10 in digital.
Of course, according to Samsung, the crux of the matter remains AI-assisted processing, and we should have good quality photos. We can still record videos in 8K at 30fps or 4K at 60fps, all in LOG format, which ensures maximum flexibility in post-production. As with the other S25s, Samsung offers a function that allows you to eliminate ambient noise to focus on the voice, all done on the device and not in the cloud. But that's not all, since we can do the opposite, so it is possible to eliminate voices, ambient noise, wind, music or even crowd noise.
Galaxy AI, of course
Unsurprisingly, we are in mid-2025 and we can no longer talk about premium smartphones if we omit AI. As a result, we find the entire Galaxy AI suite which integrates not only Samsung's AI functions but also Google's AI functions, namely Gemini. In any case, there are no major new features in absolute terms except that Samsung continues to improve everything so that the AI functions are best integrated and therefore that it is simple, natural and fluid for the end user. Samsung now speaks of an Intelligent Partner and no longer of a Personal Assistant.
Price and Availability
The new Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will be officially available during this month of May 2025. And from today until their availability, we will be able to pre-order the Galaxy S25 Edge and receive a doubled storage space. Count 1249 euros for the 256GB version and 1369 euros for the 512GB version.
