Between the two long-awaited Avengers will come Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This fourth installment will mark the return of Tom Holland, but not only that. Indeed, according to the latest rumors, a character related to Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker could make an appearance.
Spider-Man Brand New Day: a growing cast
A lot is being said about Spider-Man, and not just about Brand New Day. Tom Holland has been missing since No Way Home in 2021, an absence that was all the more noticeable in Thunderbolts*, even though one theory claims he was trapped in the Void. His return is therefore highly anticipated, and it shouldn't be long now.
During CinemaCon 2025, Tom Holland himself revealed the title of Spider-Man 4. Since this announcement, the film has been revealed a little more, particularly through its casting. Marvel has apparently cast Miles Morales' mother and is actively looking for a role for Mister Negative. Despite this, the plot remains rather vague. What is certain is that while there was initially talk of a Spider-Man with more down-to-earth plots, we are moving away from that, even more so with the rumor surrounding Sadie Sink's role.
Sadie Sink's character is reportedly linked to Tobey Maguire
One of the big names to join the cast of Brand New Day is Sadie Sink. Since her participation was made official, the actress has been linked to several characters, including Jean Grey and Mary Jane. According to reports, she is closer to the latter, but not in the expected way. Indeed, in the podcast The Hot Mic, John Rocha revealed that he had heard that Sadie Sink could play Mayday Parker, the daughter of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man and Mary Jane.
In the comics, Mayday Parker is the daughter of Peter Parker and Mary Jane in the future of an alternate universe. Contrary to her parents' wishes, the young woman follows in her father's footsteps and becomes Spider-Girl. What does this mean for Brand New Day? If this rumor is confirmed, it would clearly indicate that the film will once again be part of a multiversal story. This would not be surprising, since the film takes place between the two Avengers. As for Sadie Sink, whether she plays Mayday or not, Jeff Sneider says she'll be Peter Parker's friend. It remains to be seen if she'll also take on a superhero role.
