A year after the Honor 200 Lite, here is its replacement: the Honor 400 Lite. Dressed in a case whose design is reminiscent of a certain Huawei model, this model benefits from improved technical specifications in many areas: photography, handling, processor, battery, screen, etc. And all this without sacrificing the price, since it is cheaper than its predecessor. Presentations.
A year ago, Honor presented the first model of its "200" range. It was the Honor 200 Lite. This smartphone was aimed at fans of social networks and selfies. The spec sheet was pretty comprehensive, but it certainly lacked a bit of modernity. Fingerprint reader on the edge. Dimensity of the 6 series. 90 Hz screen. "Modestly" fast charging. Faced with very aggressive competition in the segment, the Honor 200 Lite deserved to be a little more ambitious. All for 329 euros.

A year later, Honor is replacing it, certainly realizing that the 2024 offering didn't meet all expectations. The Honor 400 Lite therefore takes up the torch with the leitmotif: offering ever more for an ever-tighter budget. The goal, of course, is to seek out brands that excel under the 300 euro mark, notably Xiaomi, whose Redmi Note is a benchmark in terms of value for money.
The Honor 400 Lite is cheaper, but better equipped
First objective: the price. The Honor 400 Lite is sold 299 euros. That is to say, 30 euros less than its predecessor. A pricing effort that does not suggest all the improvements on the technical sheet. There are some almost everywhere: SoC, battery, charging, screen, photo, biometrics or even design. Here are the main things to know about this spec sheet:
- 6.7-inch AMOLED Full HD+ 120 Hz display
- MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra processor
- 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage
- 5230 mAh battery with 35-watt fast charging support
- 108-megapixel main camera, f/1.75 aperture lens
- 16-megapixel selfie camera, f/2.45 aperture lens and front flash
- Under-display fingerprint reader
- Android 15 with Magic OS 9.0
- 5 years of Android and security updates
- Certification IP54
Added to this list are new design features. The case material has been redesigned to offer a matte finish, resistant to fingerprints, while remaining soft to the touch. On the edges, Honor has added a hardware button similar to the Camera Control on Apple's iPhone 16 Plus, for example. This button is touch-sensitive. It allows you to open the camera app, take a photo, and control the zoom. But it can also call up the AI assistant. Speaking of AI, the Honor 400 Lite benefits from Gemini, the Magic Eraser, Circle to Search, Magic Portal, Magic Capsule, and all the usual features. Honor doesn't neglect the software aspect either.
The Honor 400 Lite is therefore, on paper, an excellent candidate for the title of best value for money under 300 euros for early 2025. The smartphone is officially available from today. It will gradually arrive at your favorite retailer, if it hasn't already. Of course, a launch offer is planned, to lower the phone's selling price even further.
