Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine: a generous remaster is coming, except on PS5

Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine: a generous remaster is coming, except on PS5

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 was a resounding success for Saber Interactive. The game surpassed 6 million players last January, and its Metacritic ratings are more than positive (80/100 from the press and 8.2/10 from players). The third-person shooter has everything to please fans of Gears of War (even if there is no cover system) with its ferocious action.

Did you enjoy the experience, both solo and multiplayer? Good news, a remaster of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is coming very soon. On the other hand, PS5 players will be left out.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine returns in a 4K remastered version

The official Warhammer YouTube channel has just released the trailer for the remaster of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. This new version, called "Master Crafted Edition", features 4K resolution, modernized controls, a reworked interface, improved character models, and remastered audio, including over 100 new voices for the Orks.

"We wanted to preserve the spirit of the original while modernizing the experience for today's players. It’s more than just a new edition, it’s a respectful dialogue between the past and the present that preserves what made the original unique while making it shine for a new generation of players,” promises producer Vaidas Mikelskas of SneakyBox, the studio in charge of this remaster.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition includes the base game developed by Relic Entertainment as well as all its DLC. The adventure puts you in command of Captain Titus, a Space Marine of the Ultramarines Chapter, and a seasoned veteran of many battles. His goal is to prevent a forge world from falling under the yoke of a million Orks.

This new version allows you to engage in 8 vs. 8 online battles, all with crossplay. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition will be available from June 10 on PC (Steam) and Xbox. The game will be included in Xbox Game Pass at launch.

No, there's no PS5 version planned. A surprising move from publisher SEGA. PlayStation players, especially those who enjoyed Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, are likely keeping their fingers crossed that this is just a temporary Microsoft exclusive. They can console themselves with Gears of War: Reloaded, coming to PS5 this summer.
