For over 20 years, The Sims has reigned supreme. In the world of life simulation, there's the Maxis license, and then a few productions that nibble away at its mechanics here and there, but no full-fledged game. That was before. Now, there's InZoi, which was released in early access in such a state that the hype around it quickly died down, and everyone went back to The Sims 4. But the real competitor to the undisputed life-sim champion isn't it. It's an independent production in development for several years, which has all the necessary charm and cozy feel-good factor to come and attack EA on its own turf. Its name: Paralives, and it finally has a release date.
The Sims like Paralives has its release date
It has been catching the eye of many fans for a long time with its pencil-like artistic direction, its cozy atmosphere and its mechanics that take everything that is good about The Sims 4. With each gameplay video, each speech, Paralives has hit the mark. It only lacked one thing: a release date for its early access. This has now been done at the PC Gaming Show, Summer Game Fest 2025 edition. The real competitor to the life simulation leader has thus confirmed its arrival on PC from December 8, 2025. This early access will be charged €39.99 for the duration of its early access, after which the independent studio plans to increase the price knowing that all updates will be free and that no paid DLC will ever see the light of day.
When it launches in early access, Paralives will already have enough mechanics to keep you busy for a while, unlike inZoi, which rushed into it at the risk of burning its wings. Here's everything that's in this early access and everything that's coming a little after.
