J.K. Rowling's opinion on the first episodes of Harry Potter
In many ways, the Harry Potter series is an extraordinary project. This new adaptation of the literary cycle by British writer J.K. Rowling has been officially commissioned by Warner Bros. Discovery, which intends to exploit its most lucrative licenses to get out of the financial rut. However, this project is quite risky given that the film saga, which ended in 2011, retains a nostalgic aura for many viewers who grew up in the 2000s. Moreover, the numerous controversies now surrounding the name of J.K. Rowling, who is regularly accused of transphobia.
However, despite its profoundly risky nature, the Harry Potter series has captured a lot of attention from both the public and the press. While the announcements surrounding its casting have caused a lot of ink to flow, the budget allocated by Warner Bros. for the sets promises a series of great visual ambition. Now that the casting is (partially) known, all eyes will be on the script directed by British actress Francesca Gardiner, known in particular for her work on the series His Dark Materials, Killing Eve and Succession.
And it seems that Francesca Gardiner's work is quite satisfactory. That's at least what J.K. Rowling's reaction on social network X suggests, after reading the script for the first two episodes of season 1 of Harry Potter.
