Google's Veo 3 AI model is about to arrive on YouTube. Creators will be able to use it to generate Shorts videos quickly and easily.
AI-generated creations have started to proliferate on social media and video-sharing platforms. It's become very difficult to scroll through your feed or home screen without seeing clips from an AI tool. And things aren't going to get any better.
Until now, these AI-generated videos were made using third-party services and then uploaded to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and the like. But these platforms are now integrating AI video generators into their own platforms, making it easy to create small productions that can then be shared right away, without ever leaving the app.
AI Takes Over YouTube
The next to take this path is YouTube. The platform has just announced that it will be providing access to Google's Veo 3 AI model. Launched a few weeks ago, Veo 3 drastically improves the video quality of previous models and adds audio support. Veo 3 will be available on YouTube Shorts “later this summer,” we learned. We can therefore expect to see YouTube flooded with AI-generated short-form videos very soon. “I’m incredibly excited about the potential of AI tools to boost human creativity,” said YouTube CEO Neal Mohan. “But what’s even more exciting than what you see on screen is how AI is helping creatives behind the scenes […] The possibilities of AI are limitless,” he adds. Mohan believes that “cutting-edge AI will push the boundaries of human creativity” and that creators just need to embrace these new tools to “revolutionize formats”.
He also mentions YouTube’s auto-dubbing feature, which allows for a much larger audience potential. It supports nine different languages, including French, with eleven more coming soon.
