More than fourteen years after its release, Skyrim continues to fascinate and evolve thanks to the ingenuity of its modding community. Proof of this is once again a spectacular video published by creator Digital Dreams, a specialist in ultra-modded graphic demonstrations. In this new presentation, Bethesda's cult RPG gets a mind-blowing makeover, with more than 3,500 mods, ray tracing enabled, an 8K display at 60 FPS, and above all the raw power of an RTX 5090 graphics card.
The Wunduniik Modlist for Skyrim
Behind this impressive performance, we find the modlist “Wunduniik”, an ultra-complete compilation of carefully selected mods to transform Skyrim from top to bottom. Landscapes, textures, weather effects, animations, NPC behavior, AI, sounds, lighting… nothing escapes this complete overhaul.
The Skyrim video shows stunningly realistic environments, villages enhanced by dynamic lighting effects, and panoramas that could pass for images from a next-gen engine. It's almost hard to believe that this is still the game from 2011. In the end, only the rigidity of the character reminds us of the game's age.
A monstrous configuration for an exceptional rendering
To run such a graphic monster for Skyrim, you obviously need hardware that's up to the task. Digital Dreams uses an ultra-high-end configuration here, including an NVIDIA RTX 5090, a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, 64 GB of DDR5 RAM, as well as state-of-the-art NVMe SSDs. Suffice to say that this is not within the reach of all machines, even in 2025.
But beyond the technical demonstration, it is also an opportunity to salute the titanic work of the modding community. Thanks to tools like ReShade, ENB and ultra HD texture packs, Skyrim has never looked so beautiful. It almost becomes a new game in its own right, reinvented over the years.
