In the world of racing games, there are two franchises that are on everyone's lips: Gran Turismo and Forza. While the former remains safely in the PlayStation stable and isn't yet ready to arrive on PC, Microsoft is letting its flagship franchise compete wherever it can. A successful strategy is evidenced by the thunderous start of Forza Horizon 5 on PS5. Just a few hours after its release, the game was at the top of the sales charts on the PS Store and ultimately sold 2.2 million copies on PS5 in less than two months. A success that has rekindled the hopes of some. What if the Redmond company is riding on this new success to announce a certain Forza Horizon 6? You'll clearly have to temper your expectations.

Last year, Microsoft gave it their all at its Xbox Showcase. This year, Aaron Greenberg is calling for moderation. According to his information, the game is indeed in development, but it's only in its infancy. An announcement at Xbox Showcase 2025 would be out of the question, especially since Playground Games is reportedly focusing all its attention on Fable 4, which is expected to launch in 2026. An appearance from the next RPG remains likely, but not guaranteed at this stage. A rumor that the fan community is having a hard time accepting, especially since major updates for the fifth episode are becoming increasingly rare. "I was really hoping for a Forza Horizon 6 for 2026, it's time to move on guys," we can read on specialized forums, for example.
