The first season of Daredevil: Born Again has just concluded with great fanfare on Disney+. While season 2 is already scheduled for 2026, we wanted to examine the potential characters who could appear in this season 2. Some obvious characters like Daredevil, Bullseye, Punisher and The Kingpin are not on this list since they will inevitably be featured in this season 2. No, here, we are theoretically discussing the characters who could potentially join the cast of season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again.
18) Swordsman
Jack Duquesne already made a few appearances in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again. But the character played by Tony Dalton in the Hawkeye series was back in Daredevil: Born Again. But Jack Duquesne, aka Swordsman, never actually appears in costume (apart from a stolen video). Today, he is being held prisoner by The Kingpin. We hope, or at least we think, that the character will return in season 2, perhaps even in costume.
17) White Tiger
If Hector Ayala gets murdered in this first season of Daredevil: Born Again, there's a good chance that his niece, the young Angela Del Toro will take up the torch. That's what happens in the comics anyway, and the Marvel series seems to be taking the same path. Season 2 of Born Again could easily feature a new White Tiger. 16) Spider-Man
And yes, in the comics, Matt Murdock and Peter Parker are pretty good buddies. They often have missions together and also share common enemies, including The Kingpin. Now that Wilson Fisk has implemented an anti-vigilante law, Spider-Man's superhero business is going to be affected. This draconian and dangerous law for vigilantes should attract Spidey's attention. And besides, the two characters have already crossed paths in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
15) Bucky Barnes
As shown in Captain America: Brave New World, Bucky Barnes has embarked on a political career. The latter is seeking to become governor of the United States or something like that. He would therefore have every legitimacy to meet Wilson Fisk during a political interview. This would be a good way to give more social and political depth to Born Again and more broadly to the MCU, while also giving more weight to Bucky's new career.
14) 13) 12) The Defenders: Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist
We preferred to bring all three together. The Defenders should logically, one day, join Daredevil. We are waiting for them with bated breath. MCU fans only dream of one thing: that the Defenders reform! And then, seeing Mike Colter, Krysten Rosenberg, and Finn Jones again would still be a great victory for the Netflix series. Especially since Born Again ends with Matt Murdock explaining to Karen Page that they're going to need an army!
11) Nick Fury
We don't really believe it, but after all, the extreme recruiter is still in the game. Nick Fury is an iconic character in the MCU. He's probably THE character who has the most legitimacy to appear here and there in Marvel productions. Nick Fury could appear in Daredevil: Born Again to recruit Matt Murdock for any mission or team-up.
10) Foggy Nelson
It's widely rumored that Foggy Nelson will return in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. Elden Henson is apparently confirmed for season 2 of the Marvel series. It remains to be seen how Matt Corman and Chris Ord will justify the character's return.
9) She-Hulk
Personally, we're not a fan of the idea. But after all She-Hulk and Daredevil know each other. Matt and Jennifer even had a romantic relationship in the series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. If the series is a total disappointment, Marvel will have to recycle She-Hulk somewhere. Potentially in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again? Maybe just for a cameo… 8) Colleen Wing
In the absence of Danny Rand, season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again could possibly afford the presence of Colleen Wing. Played by Jessica Henwick in Marvel’s Iron Fist, she is Rand’s right-hand woman, his friend, his confidant, his ally. At the end of the series, she even seems to become the new Iron Fist in place of Danny Rand. What if she made her return in Daredevil: Born Again?
7) Misty Knight
Another supporting character, Misty Knight appears in Marvel’s Luke Cage. Played by Simone Missick, Misty is an outstanding investigator. Sporting a metal arm like Bucky Barnes, she's both intelligent and can bring a brute force that Daredevil sometimes lacks.
6) Miss Marvel
Here again, we're not particularly fond of the idea. After all, Miss Marvel and Daredevil's universes are a little too far apart to coexist. But the presence of Yusuf Khan (Mohan Kapur), the father of Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), in the bank robbery episode suggests that the two superheroes could eventually cross paths. Especially since Yusuf invited Matt Murdock to lunch.
5) Kate Bishop
The young archer would totally fit into the world of Born Again. After all, if Jack Duquesne is in the equation, why not the new Hawkeye. The latter should also be impacted by Wilson Fisk's law. She may be able to support Red and join the rebellion against The Kingpin.
4) Shang Chi
In the comics, Shang Chi and Daredevil are very close. Friends, allies, they maintain a relationship of respect and mutual assistance. And since Shang Chi (Simu Liu) is too rare in the MCU, season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again would be a good gateway to his return while waiting for the next Avengers.
3) Elektra
We don't really know what happens to Elektra at the end of The Defenders. Her last appearance dates back to the 2017 series. Played by the sublime French actress Elodie Yung, we would love to see this version of the character again. Even though it was cool to see Jennifer Garner as Elektra again in Deadpool & Wolverine, we still prefer the version from the Netflix series. What if season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again was the opportunity to bring Elodie Yung back into the MCU?
2) Echo
Echo and Daredevil have similar paths. The two characters have already crossed paths in the series Echo. And then, the two vigilantes have a conflictual relationship with The Kingpin. Logically, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 should see the return of Maya Lopez to the forefront.
1) Moon Knight
We would love to see Moon Knight in Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Since the end of the series, Moon Knight has been the great absentee from the MCU. It seems that Kevin Feige doesn't really know what to do with this complex and ambiguous character. A series like Born Again is the perfect playground to develop the character of Oscar Isaac. It's a dark, violent, ambiguous series that would allow us to learn more about the Moon Knight. And then, a Daredevil / Moon Knight team-up is a given!
