The Witcher: Good news for the next game, it promises to be "incredible"

Things are moving in The Witcher franchise. As you know, there's no shortage of projects at CD Projekt, with the bulk of the work being on the fourth installment in the main saga. The first images were unveiled at The Game Awards 2024, and the studio's latest financial statement designated it as its priority production. However, others are underway, at varying stages of progress. Among the lot, we find the famous multiplayer game for which some very encouraging news is announced.

The Witcher offers a team of choice

For a project as ambitious as a multiplayer, it is better to know who to count on. The decision-makers have therefore undertaken a process that should greatly benefit the one called "The Witcher Project Sirius". This process is the merger of the CD Projekt RED studio with another, The Molasses Flood, which was already part of the CD Projekt group.

The Molasses Flood has been working alongside CD Projekt RED on The Witcher Sirius since its acquisition in 2021. This merger will also allow it to consolidate its contribution. In particular, it provides the teams with the benefit of its expertise, developed on titles such as the roguelike The Flame in the Flood and the multiplayer adventure game Drake Hollow. In passing, the studio wanted to reassure about the support of its previous productions in a press release.

The Witcher: Good news for the next game, it promises to be "incredible"

We wish to inform you that on April 1, 2025, The Molasses Flood LLC ("TMF") merged with CD PROJEKT RED Inc. ("CDPR Inc."), a company within the CD PROJEKT group.

As a result of the merger, TMF, in its former legal status (as a separate legal entity), ceased operations, while CDPR Inc. assumed the rights and obligations of TMF.

The merger will not affect the availability or distribution of the video games " The Flame in The Flood » and « Drake Hollow », which will continue to be published by the CD PROJEKT group. For more information on the CD PROJEKT group, please visit https://www.cdprojekt.com/en/.

A multiplayer opus that will please fans

This renewal within the teams working on The Witcher multiplayer also comes with a departure: that of Damian Isla, the co-founder of The Molasses Flood. In a post on LinkedIn, he explains that this is a choice on his part. It's a page that is turning for him, but he wants to reassure us about the content of this merger: « it's something GOOD AND HEALTHY for the studio, which has been long awaited.

Finally, Isla was able to contribute to The Witcher Sirius for three years as design director. In his eyes, the project promises to be an "incredible game". But, above all, he assures that it will speak to fans of the books, the very origin of the Witcher saga. He therefore " can't wait for the rest of the world to see what they've been working on ».
