The Young Avengers, the future of Marvel's MCU

For years, the idea that a film about the Young Avengers is in the works has been making a lot of noise. Rumors are rife, fueled in particular by the events visible in the MCU, and more specifically by the end of the Agatha All Along series. Despite the failure of The Marvels, bringing the Young Avengers would still be relevant. And this week, Disney made it official: the Young Avengers are coming. In what form? We still don't know. While Phase VI of the MCU is fast approaching with the theatrical release of Fantastic Four: Beginning, Disney is already preparing the sequel.

And while the X-Men and Fantastic Four will take center stage in the MCU for a while, it's important to remember that the stars of the MCU so far have been the Avengers. The Avengers' ranks were decimated after Infinity War and Endgame, so it's worth replenishing them. And to bring a little youth to on screen, and probably targeting a different audience, Marvel Studios should turn to the Young Avengers, a cult comic book team that first appeared in 2005.

The Young Avengers finally made official by Disney?

And as The Direct reports, fans were treated to the first teaser of the MCU version of the Young Avengers on the luxury cruise ship Disney Treasure.During a post-credits scene for the upcoming Disney Plus series, Champions, viewers were said to have seen three of the potential members of the Young Avengers, namely America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), Cassie Lang (Kathyrn Newton) and Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne). And as if to fuel this speculation, a scene from the Marvel movie Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix at the Worlds of Marvel restaurant shows America Chavez, Cassie Lang and Riri Williams sitting at a restaurant table "celebrating their latest victory".

That's all it takes to revive rumors about the potential arrival of the Young Avengers in the MCU.Miss Marvel (Iman Vellani) and Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), potentially recruited by Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) into the Young Avengers, would therefore welcome new members. A new team is taking shape, it remains to be seen when Disney will decide to reveal these images to all its fans. It's likely that the wait won't be very long, probably just a few weeks.
