Last month, the PS Portal was upgraded to version 5.0.0 thanks to a major update in more ways than one. It added a whole host of features such as game sorting, gameplay capture, queueing while the streaming servers are empty, and the ability to pause gameplay during a session. Following this major update, however, several players encountered a particularly annoying problem on the Sony device. While waiting for a proper fix, PlayStation Support has come up with a temporary solution to quickly and effectively address the issue.
Remise du PS Portal avec une solution support temporaire
For the past month, some PS Portal users have been reporting to PlayStation Support that their device seems to be experiencing connection issues with their PS5. While this isn't a widespread issue, it's not just a rare occurrence, rendering the device completely unusable. While waiting for a more permanent fix, here's PlayStation Support's recommended solution to bypass the PS Portal to PS5 connectivity issue:
- Turn off the PS5.
- Press and hold the power button for a few seconds, and release once you hear the second beep.
- Connect a PS5 DualSense controller via USB cable, then press the PS button on the controller to enter Safe Mode.
- Select the "Rebuild Database" option, then "Clear Cache". The PS5 will restart.
- Repeat the previous steps, then this time select the "Restore Default Settings" option.
By clearing the PS5's cache and restoring its default settings, the PS Portal should no longer have problems connecting to the console. It's also worth noting that this does not cause any data loss for your PS5. However, you will likely need to redo some custom settings applied to your system itself. If the PS Portal connectivity issue persists, you can follow PlayStation Support's instructions on this topic in the FAQ dedicated to the streaming device, also cited as a source below.
