Steam: A new free game to keep for life, hurry!

Steam: A new free game to keep for life, hurry!

When we think of good deals on PC, the Epic Games Store usually immediately comes to mind. It must be said that since its launch, the Fortnite store has offered over 500 free games to all users, with no strings attached. However, it's not the only platform to spoil PC gamers. GOG also offers free games when promoting its sales, while Amazon and its Prime Gaming allow subscribers to get their hands on around twenty additional titles every month. Then there's Steam, which ranges from free weekend trials to games to keep for life. It's in this second category that today's good deal falls.

Par Toutatis, a new free Steam game!

It's happening more and more regularly, it's not on Valve's platform that you should turn, even if the free game will be available there. The American store Fanatical is sparing no effort to make itself known. It's starting to build a small reputation among French players by occasionally offering free Steam games. Indeed, from time to time, it offers anyone who wants them the chance to collect keys for games of various horizons and calibers. It may be the new Netflix animated series produced by Alain Chabat that gave it ideas, but this time Fanatical is giving away free Steam keys for Asterix & Obelix XXL Romastered.

A remaster of the original XXL game, this new version includes improved graphics, gameplay improvements, reworked animations, and most importantly, four new game modes. Retro mode, to rediscover the graphics of yesteryear, Course mode, where you have to collect coins within the given time limit, Against the Hourglass, a race against the clock, and finally Extreme mode for those who like a challenge. A pretty cool free Steam game, especially for younger kids.

How to get this free game?

Want to play Roman? It's as easy as that. To claim this free Steam game, simply go to the dedicated page for this giveaway, directly on the Fanatical website. From there, you'll simply have to check the box to subscribe to the newsletter, one of only two conditions for getting your daily deal. Then, simply click "add to cart" and you're done. The other condition is to prevent abuse. You'll need to link your Steam account to the site's and have made at least €5 in purchases on Valve's platform. Suffice to say, this is a formality at this stage. Once done, the code for your free Steam game will be sent to you instantly by email. You'll then just have to do the usual procedure to get it on the store.

We advise you not to wait too long, because you have until Thursday, May 15th to get your hands on it, knowing that it's while stocks last. And yes, even if these aren't the games of the century, players sometimes rush to buy them. It's hard to turn down a free game.
