Launched at the end of 2024, Fortnite Chapter 6 is quietly continuing its course. On May 2, Epic Games kicked off its new season, Star Wars: Galactic Battle, naturally dedicated to George Lucas's cinematic universe. But while this collaboration is expected to last a good month, it appears that one of the upcoming crossovers has already leaked. And it too promises to feature a hero from the far reaches of the universe: Superman.
Superman soon to return in a video game?
This certainly won't please all the fans hoping for a return of Superman in full form in a REAL video game, but in the meantime, it's always something. Yes, Superman should put his tights back on in Fortnite. Shiina and FNBRintel, two well-known Fortnite leakers, revealed the news via their respective X accounts. According to them, a new partnership with DC Comics is in the works. And it would more specifically be a collaboration with the new Superman film directed by James Gunn, expected in theaters in July 2025. Moreover, everything suggests that the crossover in question should occur around this date, with a skin in the colors of the character played by David Corenswet.
Also according to the two leakers, a mythical ability would also be part of the game to allow players to transform into Superman. However, we do not have any more information on this subject at the moment. We'll have to wait for an official announcement from Epic Games to find out more. Remember, however, that this won't be the DC hero's first appearance in the game universe. In 2021, he already had a dedicated set during Season 7 of Chapter 2.
But while we wait for his big return, you know what to do. The other players are just waiting for you to repel the imperial forces invading the battle royale island. The big final fight against Emperor Palpatine is scheduled for June 7.
