Waiting for Splinter Cell Remake? Here's What to Do to Keep You Waiting

Waiting for Splinter Cell Remake? Here's What to Do to Keep You Waiting

It's been many years since Sam Fisher was given a real mission. Since Splinter Cell Blacklist, released in 2013, the franchise has remained dormant, despite a remake officially announced for 2021. But in the absence of news from Ubisoft, a fan has taken the lead. And the result is rather impressive.

A reworked, faithful but modernized version for Splinter Cell

Named Splinter Cell Enhanced, this unofficial project takes up the very first episode of the series, the one that laid the foundations of the infiltration genre. But here, everything is refined. The player finds the game he knew, but with more content, more challenge and better ergonomics. Everything is available on this link.

Two new levels from content abandoned at the time, Nuclear Power Plant and Severonickel, have been reinstated. There is also an "Elite" mode, designed for the most daring: no starting ammunition, no quick saves. Suffice to say, discretion is mandatory.

Small additions that make the difference

This homemade remaster doesn't just add content. It also brings well-thought-out improvements: compatibility with modern controllers, thermal vision that can be activated anywhere, new customization options for Sam, and even revised loading screens to better fit the story. All of this maintains the dark and tense atmosphere of the original game, without betraying what made it so charming. A great way to rediscover Splinter Cell without having to wait forever for a remake.

While radio silence continues from Ubisoft, this alternative version comes at the right time. It shows how much the community remains attached to the franchise, despite the absence of a real new episode for over a decade. This Splinter Cell Enhanced is obviously not official or commercially available. But it has the merit of reviving a classic, with passion and respect.
