iPhone: Don't wait for these 2 new features in iOS 26, they have reportedly been delayed

The new version of iOS is coming soon, and we already expect it to be stripped of two new features that were expected with it. Here's what it's all about and when we can expect to see them.

iPhone: Don't wait for these 2 new features in iOS 26, they have reportedly been delayed

Apple's WWDC is on June 9, 2025. At the time of this article being posted, there are 2 days left before the conference where the Apple brand croquée will present the next version of the iPhone operating system, iOS 26. Don't worry, you haven't slept for 7 years without realizing it. Apple would indeed like to harmonize the version numbers of its software ecosystem by using the last two digits of the coming year. Easier to remember.

In fact, this doesn't change anything we already think we know about what was called iOS 19. Among the new features to come, there are two in particular that promise to be very interesting. Unfortunately, the always well-informed journalist Mark Gurman thinks Apple has pushed them back. The company would indeed need more time to come up with something satisfactory. Let's see what it is.

These two new features were expected with iOS 26, but we'll have to wait longer.

The first is a redesign of the Calendar app. No details on this, although it's easy to imagine what it will look like. In April 2024, Apple acquired Mayday Labs, a firm that developed a calendar app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac powered by artificial intelligence. It was removed from the App Store shortly after the acquisition, so it's assumed these features will be found in Apple's app. For example, automatically scheduling an appointment based on each person's availability.

The second new feature that we'll have to wait for is the redesign of the Health app. Here too, AI plays an important role in transforming the program into a true virtual health assistant. Among other things, it will be able to provide personalized advice based on data collected by the iPhone or an Apple Watch. These two apps were planned for iOS 19.4, therefore iOS 26.4. Finally, they would arrive in 2026 with iOS 27, or even a little later during an update to this version.
