This Saturday, Netflix held its famous TUDUM. The event is of capital importance for the company, which officially announces all the works to come in the coming months. The program includes fantasy, horror, animation, as well as news on the seasons of hit series. Wednesday is obviously one of them, and the never-before-seen images shared by Netflix allow us to dive into the world of young Addams several months before the release of season 2.
As the footage shows, Jenna Ortega will reprise her role as Wednesday in a sequel that promises to be spicy. This new batch of episodes promises a darker, more horrific atmosphere, moving away from the romantic intrigues of the first season. To ensure that the message gets through to those who weren't entirely convinced by the heroine's early adventures, the series plunges its main character into a gruesome investigation. Since she was a child, Wednesday Addams has been fascinated by serial killers. She uses her psychic powers to find one of them and confront him. This antagonist, played by Haley Joel Osment, doesn't know it yet, but he's heading for big trouble. In his creepy basement, the killer will confront the most recalcitrant victim he's ever encountered. The scene serves as an introduction before the serious stuff gets going.
Indeed, the plot should focus on the arrival of a new enemy. Although powerful, he was already at the epicenter of the previous season's finale. After defeating Marilyn Thornhill, Wednesday found clues that suggested she wasn't acting alone. Additionally, Tyler Galpin's character, who was seen in a psychiatric cell, could still play a pivotal role. Of course, the cast remains largely unchanged, with Catherine Zeta-Jones playing Morticia, Luis Guzmán portraying Gomez, and Fred Armisen (Uncle Fetid) and Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley) remaining. Enid, played by Emma Myers, will also be there to counterbalance Wednesday's dark personality. However, we'll have to do without Percy Hynes White, who was dismissed after being accused of sexual assault by several women.
To watch season 2 of Wednesday, however, you'll have to be patient. The trailer will help us wait a little, but we won't get the first episodes until August 6th. Netflix has decided to split season 2 into two parts, so subscribers will have to wait until September 3rd to get the finale. Will it be able to do as well as season 1? That'll be up to the viewers to decide.
