The flagship service game from miHoYo and HoYoverse is still going strong. Genshin Impact continues to regularly spoil its fans with tons of free content in addition to major updates. However, these remain what players are most looking forward to. Especially since the next one continues to be the subject of much rumor. However, the latest rumors about version 5.8 won't delight everyone this time.
A less important update for Genshin Impact?
The beginning of May marked a turning point for the Genshin Impact community. In fact, the game welcomed its new update. After a month and a half under version 5.5, we moved on to 5.6. This regular rhythm is clearly what keeps this rich universe alive. But even when a new version is in place, players are looking at what awaits them in the next ones. 5.8 in particular has been the subject of several leaks for a while.
After all the content received thanks to previous patches, the community has had a lot to do. This is again the case with the latest one. However, it might not always be the same in the coming months. At least, that's what leaker Uncle Kokomi, also known by the pseudonym HomDGRat, is suggesting.
In fact, he simply stated in a post on social networks that "version 5.8 probably won't contain any new characters." Without further details, it suggests a lull in the Genshin Impact roster around July and August 2025, the likely release window for the version.
This statement would therefore directly contradict another rumor surrounding version 5.8. A leak had mentioned at least one new character. It would not be impossible for the latter to be the only one, or almost, to join the game this summer. Remember, however, that this is currently a rumor. We should learn more in the coming weeks.
