Samsung is preparing to launch One UI 8 based on Android 16. The beta phase is starting in several regions with access restricted to certain Galaxy models. A new dedicated center makes signing up easier than ever.
Every year, Samsung accompanies the release of a new version of Android with an update to its One UI interface. This overlay modifies the system's appearance, reorganizes the menus, and adds functions specific to the Galaxy ecosystem. The beta phase allows certain users to test these new features before their official deployment. It usually begins a few months before the final release, focusing first on the manufacturer's most recent smartphones.
In 2025, Samsung will launch the One UI 8 beta, based on Android 16. It is primarily aimed at its latest Galaxy 25 series, which should receive the interface in preview. The models concerned are the Galaxy S25, the S25 Plus and the S25 Ultra. These three devices will be the first to be able to download the trial version via the Samsung Members app. The S25 Edge is also mentioned, but it could be integrated into the program later.
Samsung opens the One UI 8 beta in six countries and creates a dedicated space for registrations
The first countries to welcome the beta are the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, India, South Korea, and Poland. Samsung has already enabled banners in its community forums and the Samsung Members app. France is not yet one of the regions concerned. French users have two options: wait for the program to arrive in France (as was the case with One UI 7), or change the language and region of their Samsung account, which remains complex and not recommended for the general public. To join the beta, you must use the Samsung Members app, which is installed by default on Galaxy smartphones. If your device is compatible and it is available in your country, a “One UI Beta Program” banner will appear on the home page. By tapping on it, you can read the terms of use and then confirm your registration. Then, the beta update will be offered in the phone's settings.
Here's how to do it, step by step:
- Open the Samsung Members app.
- Look for the "One UI Beta Program" banner on the home screen.
- Tap it, then confirm your registration.
- Go to Settings > Software Update to download the beta.
Samsung has also launched a new space called Beta Program Home. It brings together all the current trial versions for smartphones, smartwatches, and apps. Other models like the Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, or Z Flip 6 could join the program later.
