There are games that accumulate such unexpected hype that it's almost impossible for them to meet the excessive expectations. InZoi is clearly one of them. The craze quickly overwhelmed the studio, which had undoubtedly not anticipated the overflowing appetite of Sims fans for new experiences. As a result, it rushed to launch its game in early access in a decent state, but which is sorely lacking in essential content and features. Life simulation fans quickly returned to their favorite game, and the number of users is at an all-time low. inZOI Studio had anticipated this with its roadmap, which was supposed to launch in May 2025, which is almost complete. The big question was therefore: where is this first major update? We finally have an answer.
inZOI's first major update will wait
We suspected it, and it's a done deal. The axe has fallen: the Korean studio will indeed be behind schedule. As announced by Kjun, the game's director, inZOI's May update has finally been postponed to mid-June 2025. For official modding tools, we'll therefore have to wait a few more weeks. "We preferred to devote more time to the necessary adjustments to ensure a more satisfactory result," explained Kjun in his official press release. Various improvements will also be deployed at the same time, particularly regarding the expression of emotions and the personality of Zois. The bugs that appeared with the latest hotfixes will also be fixed for the occasion. New dialogues and reactions based on emotional states will also be added in the next inZOI update.
As an example, cited in the official press release, a sad Zoi will now be able to "cry in the bathroom." The studio specifies that this will only be the beginning, as a series of changes are planned for the near future. "Ultimately, we want each Zoi to develop its own personality and react more naturally," explains the game director. If the studio sticks to its roadmap, then improvements to the character creator and the build mode will also be included, as will the arrival of the adoption system and cheat codes. However, none of these have been mentioned in the latest statements regarding the next inZOI update. It is likely at this stage that they will be pushed back to a later date, although this remains to be confirmed. We'll know more soon, before the deployment of the first major inZOI patch, scheduled for mid-June.
